 Stephen Campbell

Stephen Campbell is 21 years old and studying a degree course in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying at Loughborough University.

His participation in motorsport started in 1997 when he undertook a formal training programme in karting. He susbsequently obtained an MSA National Karting licence and joined the Sandown Park Kart Club. Over two seasons he acquitted himself well in Junior league competitions, netted a series of race wins and podium places and finished runner up in the 1999 winter series championship.

In December 1999, at the age of 15, Stephen was put through a rigorous testing and training procedure at Castle Combe racing circuit and passed the Association of Racing Drivers Schools test. Stephen became one of the youngest drivers ever to be granted a Motors Sports Association racing licence. He was given invaluable support by Sandown Park Kart Club and in the beginning of 2000 was invited to join their new team of two cars prepared by Hyperion Motorsport for four rounds of the inaugural T Car saloon race series, launched by the British Racing and Sports Car Club. The televised T-Car races organized by the BRSCC were held alongside established championships such as Formula Palmer Audi and the Caterham Superlight Challenge.

In 2001, Stephen graduated from the Silverstone Racing School following an intensive tuition programme in saloons, sports cars and single seaters. He subsequently participated in one Formula Ford race before deciding to sign up for a full Championship season in the following year.

Having passed his driving test for a road licence in January 2002, Stephen at the age of 17 was the youngest of 25 drivers to participate in the inaugural John Cooper Challenge during that year. He finished 5th in the 2003 championship while taking his A-levels at Colfe's school in South East London. In 2004 & 2005 he has finished 4th in the Club Class Championship.
